Mountain running at Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains, in February 2014.

An outstanding short film. Love it.

By balancing the yang of your training with the yin of yoga, you’ll cultivate complete health — body, mind, and spirit — which makes you not only a better athlete, but also a better person.

No more “she’ll be right”

When I realised the niggly soreness in my hip and thigh wasn’t going away by itself, I sought advice from a couple of blokes in the running club. It was sound. Instead of taking the old “she’ll be right” approach, I got in to see a physio at a sports clinic recommended by my running mates.

My physio is a young bloke and a sportsman himself. He’s been excellent. He’s validated my self-diagnosis - which was about 80% correct - plus he’s taught me a lot about the muscles and mechanics of the affected area.

The exercises I do a few times a week are already paying off. The deep tissue massage I undergo weekly is deliciously painful - I’m still tender after yesterday’s. Plus I get an hour each week where I just lie back and chat about running and footy and stuff.

Next session is in a week, then it’ll be time to get out for a run again, stronger, steadier, and smarter than before.

I love this one. Spotted it on the notice board at yoga last night.
